I'm hoping that Sapphires/Rubies become common as the Raven Staff and sell for naff all... juzt to spite all the ones who hoarded them. Why should Anet help the rich get richer?
Either way its hoarding Linen, Silk, Leather (Elonian/normal) and Ectos/Shards for me.

I also really hope they give bones a use... As it is now you get between 4-500 bones just from playing through factions, but there's nothing to use them on except a few bones for a necro armour.

From what I was told they where part of the game then phased out just not removed from crafters. They would have to add a slot for them for storage, since there is currently none.

I think the following will become hot commodities...
Elonian Leather Square (duh)...which means that Tanned Hides and Glittering Dust should become more valuable since you can craft these.
Spiritwood Planks...only one very limited use for these right now, can see them expanding.
Linen/Silk/Damask - and cloth to make these - this should be pretty obvious based on the Dervish's clothing.

R n S wern't used for Factions I cant see why they would be used for Nightfall, people are just hoarding them for no reason. A lot of people have been hoarding these for ages, if anet did implement a use for them there would be a lot of new millionaires and we know anet doesnt like imbalance , I dont think they will ever have a real use.
If there is armour that requires some kind of jem they will probably create new ones, ie Jade and Amber.

Sapphires, Rubies, Ectos, Shards, Hides, Fur, Cloth, Spiritwood Planks. I think a new material brought by Nightfall will be Ivory.

Just all the basics tha most/all armour needs to craft the first few levels of it, i.e iron, cloth, hides, leather and fur. These will probably cover dervisher and Paragon armour aswell. Steel is a safe bet aswell, for the new warrior armour.

I'm just gonna start saving every scrap I get. That way, once I find out what I need, I'll either have it, or I'll have other stuff that I can sell and buy what I do in fact need.

Fur...the rangers are seen wearing fur, other professions might have armors that use fur also.
